The Presidential is a democratic Advanced
The electoral process was exemplary and it is not just the work of the government, but also that of all the candidates and all the people of Togo, said Friday the Minister of Territorial Administration, Gilbert Bawara on the eve the presidential election.
Everyone understood that an election campaign is an opportunity to compare ideas and certainly not to engage in acts of violence, he added.
The minister called on candidates and their supporters to trust the Electoral Commission for the collection and tabulation of results. He reminded delegates that the candidates would be present in each polling station to ensure the operations of counting and data transmission to Celi and INEC.
'Together, the members of the polling stations must be able to abstract and collect the results in the presence of witnesses. They will have all of a copy of the minutes, as provided in the Electoral Code ', said Gilbert Bawara emphasis on transparency of operations.
To ensure the transparency of the different modes of collection, processing and sending the results to the CENI (IVR, SMS, fax and Success), observers of the IOF, of ECOWAS and the African Union will be present to witness the arrival of all the results at the headquarters of the electoral commission in Lome.
'This is a further guarantee of credibility of the results management process. In any event, it is clear that these are the minutes that remain the basis, the foundation of the announcement of the provisional results of electoral disputes, which will be the basis for the proclamation of the final results by the Constitutional Court 'said Minister of Territorial Administration.
He warned all those who by their attitude, behavior or statement might raise concerns, fear, doubt about the electoral process or the outcome of elections.
He also denounced any possible initiative to circulate illegally false results or false trends. Only the INEC is empowered to declare the results.
'The concern for our country is to ensure that the entire electoral process devotes advanced both democratic and advanced in the healing process of the political climate and national reconciliation', concluded Gilbert Bawara.
