NEWS: Bawara 'We narrowly avoided a scenario the Ivorian'

Bawara 'We narrowly avoided a scenario the Ivorian'
'The difference in votes between Gnassingbe and Jean-Pierre Fabre is such that even if several thousand votes were invalidated, it would strictly alter the result, "said Gilbert Bawara Wednesday, the Minister of Territorial Administration.
Mr. Bawara said that Togo had narrowly escaped a scenario because the Ivorian representatives Cape 2015 / ANC to the Electoral Commission (INEC) did everything to try to prevent the publication of results by multiplying the obstructions.
'This is the strategy that Cape 2015 / ANC attempted to use to INEC except that we have been vigilant and ECOWAS has made clear to them that their behavior was likely to plunge the country into violence and they would held directly responsible by the international community, "said the Minister.
'Considering how activities resumed including Lomé, there is no better expression of Togolese commitment to a climate of serenity and peace. The Togolese are tired of political parties or political actors who are in a vindictive spirit, explained Gilbert Bawara.
He praised the exceptional quality of the electoral process.
Any challenge of the results is now under the jurisdiction of the Constitutional Court.
