A new Togolese contingent of police and gendarmes to Lome left Monday for Darfur as part of the succession plan of the Unified Police Unit (UPU) which is part of the United Nations hybrid mission capability and the African Union in Darfur (UNAMID).
Men have specific training 7 weeks Training Center for Peacekeeping Operations of the Lomé Peace, the fruit of military cooperation between Togo and the United States.
Training provided by US instructors, focused on police operations: policing, conveying, mining buildings, weapons handling, shooting sessions. The course will continue for two weeks Kpéwa camp.
