The new members of the High Commission for reconciliation and the strengthening of national unity (HCRRUN) met Tuesday in Atakpamé Bishop Nicodemus Barrigah-Bénissan. He chaired the Truth Justice and Reconciliation Commission (TJRC) charged to revisit the history of the country in addressing the violence committed between 1958 and 2005.
The prelate encouraged the institution to move forward and make every effort to achieve reconciliation.
The implementation of the recommendations and reparations program developed by the CVJR is provided by the HCRRUN.
This body shall contribute to the establishment of a social and political climate necessary for peaceful national reconciliation in Togo.
The Office is headed by a magistrate, Awa Nana Daboya, former President of the Court of Justice of ECOWAS.
