NEWS: Bolloré sales up in first quarter

Bolloré: sales up in first quarter
The French Bolloré diverse group on Tuesday released a turnover up 4.5% to € 2.6 billion for the first quarter 2015 thanks to the dynamism of its transport and communication activities.
The health of these industries more than offset the sharp decline of the oil logistics, due to falling prices of the black gold, the company said in a statement.
The company's industrial Breton Vincent Bolloré, however, seems to have benefited from currency effects since at constant scope and exchange sales retreated 0.4%.
The transport and logistics business, which contributes half of sales of Bolloré in the first three months of 2015 grew by 11% in raw data.
The group attributed the increase to higher volumes in the transport commission, which recorded strong growth particularly on the routes from Asia and Europe-Africa and increased volumes handled at the container terminals in Africa.
The group is located in Togo, where its activities are very important to the port of Lomé.
Revenues from communication branch (about a fifth of total sales) meanwhile jumped 20%, still raw data, through Havas whose business grew across all regions, particularly in North America, the United Kingdom and Asia Pacific.
Bolloré holds 60% stake in Havas after a public exchange offer launched in October 2014 that allowed him to take control. Havas Tuesday released a turnover up 20.6% for the first quarter.
Bolloré is also present in the electricity storage and Agriculture (including plantations in Africa), activities which together account for less than 5% of total turnover.
The family group founded in 1822, whose Bolloré still hold the majority, has not set targets for 2015, saying Tuesday that power without prejudging the result of the year, the main industrial and financial indicators for end of first quarter 2015 remained satisfactory.
