Whether one is a supporter or opponent of Faure Gnassingbe, one must recognize objectively the progress made by Togo in a decade.
In 2005, the country recorded a growth of barely 1.2% with an inflation rate of 6%. External debt was abysmal.
And the situation was not much better in the administration with wage arrears, cash flow problems. The labor market was paralyzed from there.
At this gloomy picture, it was necessary to add political and social tensions and a lack of confidence in the future.
After 10 years, Togo has a new face. While much remains to be done, lot has already been accomplished. Recognizes that openly or half word the political class, including the opposition.
