The Independent Electoral Commission (CENI) continued Sunday operations processing the results of the presidential election. The minutes of the 8994 offices were transported to Lomé to be centralized, audited and accounted for. For maximum reliability, the system provided by the electoral code, is reinforced by a software which allows to avoid errors.
A committee of foreign observers (AU, ECOWAS, UEMOA, OIF ...) assist in the process directly to the headquarters of the CENI.
3.5 million Togolese were registered on the electoral roll. Turnout appears to have been lower than for the presidential 2010.
The Election Commission has six days to publish interim results.
