Sokodé connects to the northern regions
The presidents of Togo Faure Gnassingbe and Benin Thomas Boni Yayi inaugurated Thursday Kidéoudé (340 km from Lomé, prefecture Tchaoudjo) transformer station Sokode.
The work, carried out in 19 months by a Chinese undertaken spans almost 5 hectares. This part of the expansion and securing the electrical transmission system CEB * program.
Funding - 12 billion CFA francs - was provided by a concessional loan from Exim Bank of China.
The aim is to ensure better electric blanket the northern regions of Togo and Benin.

The work will improve the supply of power to the regions Central and Kara.
This is the fourth such post opened 8 years after the Sakété (2007), Kara (2009) and Parakou (2010).
Several personalities attended the ceremony including the Prime Minister, the Ministers of Energy, Development at the base of Social Action, Post & Digital Economy and the Environment. Also present, Liu Yuxi, Chinese Ambassador in Lome whose country has funded the project.

The post will be fed for about a kilometer artery cut line 161kV Atakpamé-Kara.
It will reduce electrical losses on line 161 Kv Sokodé-Kara and Kara-Sokode 66kV line in north-south direction; helps, in case of unavailability of the portion of the line 161 kV between Sokode, Kara; ensure greater flexibility of the line 161 kV operation which, in case of maintenance, will be immobilized in 02 sections; ensure greater selectivity in case of damage on the section 161 Kv Sokodé-Kara and after the completion of the Onigbolo-Parakou line on the Atakpame-Sokode section; to increase the transport capacity and supply of electric power for central regions and Kara.
