POLITICS: Financial boost from the state to candidates

The Togolese authorities are examining the modalities of partial public financing of election campaigns. Parties having a presidential candidate will benefit. The terms and the overall envelope remains unclear. 

Part of the cost could be supported by the state - or reimbursed after the election - if the candidate obtains at least 5% of the vote.

In any event, the aid will not cover all expenses.
