The Togolese Minister of Foreign Affairs, Robert Dussey, on Friday met his Thai counterpart in Bangkok Tanasak Patimapragorn who is also deputy prime minister.
Mr. Dussey done since Wednesday an official visit to the Kingdom, the first since the establishment of diplomatic relations between the two countries there nearly 30 years.
During the meeting were discussed political issues with the upcoming presidential election in Togo.
It was agreed to sign a partnership agreement based on a triangular cooperation, covering the areas of development with the support of institutions like Exim Bank of Thailand and the Thai International Cooperation Agency for Development. Two memoranda were signed to this effect.
The two ministers also discussed security issues with, in particular, maritime piracy plaguing the Gulf of Guinea. Togo, who will host next November an international conference on the subject invited Thailand to participate.

A memorandum of agreement was signed between the parallel Chambers of Togo and Thailand.
Bangkok was hitherto little presence in Africa, limiting the circle of its partners and cooperation with Asian countries. But the doctrine seems to evolve due to the economic development on the continent of sustained growth.
